Theatre Arts: Period EInstructor: Mrs. Rose Morse
This course explores the art of the theater, on the stage and behind the scenes. Students learn the history of the theater, acting techniques, and directing disciplines. They see how a show is put together from start to finish. In this course, students get hands on experience behind the scenes from lighting to sound to scenery. In the past we have done projects using stage makeup, period hairstyles, costume design, prop & set construction and many improv exercises. In the spring, we perform a musical play (This is separate however, from the Mercy/Xavier musical in March). This is a full year course but some students are permitted to take it for a semester. It may also be taken more than one time throughout a students career.
